Say YES! to publicly funded seniors’ housing

Rendering of the central road access into a new proposed seniors’ care campus.

Inglewood Care Center, Public hearing

Tuesday, June 23rd, 6:00 pm at Municipal Hall

We are finally at the point where we can say YES to developing a new seniors’ housing and care centre on the site of the current Inglewood Care Centre. The new integrated Inglewood seniors’ community will provide:

  • 364 provincially funded long-term care homes for seniors

  • 161 new rental apartments for seniors with a mix of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units with 20% below market rates

  • 200 independent living apartments for sale, including support services

  • All in a natural, courtyard-style setting complete with gardens, walkways, exercise spaces and dining options

We all know someone who will need long-term housing and care in their senior years —heck, we may even need it ourselves.

Many of us have also had the heartbreaking experience of having to place our loved ones in care facilities as remote as Richmond, Burnaby or even White Rock.

But there are councillors and lobby groups opposed to this development!

Without council approval, this project will not move forward.

So, it’s doubly important to attend or speak at the public hearing, in person or remotely, to get this vital project approved. You can also write to the Mayor and Councillors by 12 noon, June 23rd.

Let’s get this vital project approved!

Thank you, Positive Voices
