West Van gets regular ‘Vital Signs’ health check

West Vancouver Foundation’s Vital Signs report is an analysis of key quality of life indicators based on local knowledge, gathered from professionally-conducted surveys.

It is designed to support civic engagement, discussion and evidence-based solutions that meet the needs of our community.

The latest edition, the first since 2019, shows that we score well on a range of measures including safety, health, and sense of belonging.

But it also has some sobering conclusions, including:

  • An ‘F’ grade for housing

  • Fewer than 50% of respondents say West Van is a good place for youth

  • 62% are pessimistic about the future of our community

  • Mobility, and particularly transit, need to improve.

We will post a video of the event here, in the next few days.
