Rental housing zone voted down

This is not over!  This NSN article by Jan Seyd, “West Vancouver rejects rental only Zone for Ambleside apartments”, November 28, 2023,  identifies a problem that involves all the community.

At the West Vancouver Council meeting on Monday, November 27, 2023, Councillors Christine Cassidy, Scott Snider, Linda Watt, and Sharon Thompson voted down the rental zoning proposal as they wish to consult with property owners, developers, and consultants.

But the problem involves all sectors of West Van. All renters, owners and the West Van Council need to meet to resolve this issue. The zoning proposal needs to be revisited to permanently protect 3,000 long-standing residents, many of them seniors, and those with modest incomes in our district, and guarantee rental housing stock for the future. 

We need to hold our mayor and councillors accountable. So get involved and let your voice be heard! Contact Mayor Sager and all your WV Councilors and insist that they address this urgent problem.
