Seasons Greetings and a look back on a positive 2023

From all of us at West Vancouver Positive Voices, we wish you happy holidays and a brave New Year! You may not be aware that there are over 2,000 West Vancouverites in the Positive Voices movement, and this past year, we really made our voices heard. In 2023 we:

• Helped send the Park Royal studio apartments proposal to a public hearing – the project was eventually approved

• Moved the dial on the need for the Asset Levy increase from 1 to 2% as a long overdue investment for future generations

• Encouraged participation in the Ambleside Local Area Plan consultation

• Pushed for an ethical Code of Conduct for Mayor and Council – WV is one of the very few public bodies in BC that does not have one!

• Hosted forums on the Ambleside Local Area Plan and the need for mobility options in WV

• Supported the Urban Forest Management Plan and lobbied for bike lanes on Marine Dr.

• Campaigned vigorously to protect our rental housing stock in Ambleside

There is so much more to do, but we are now established as a positive voice for a dynamic, future-focused West Vancouver, and with your help, we look forward to greater success in 2024.
