Support a 0.5% enviro levy increase

West Vancouver District Council has launched a new strategic plan for 2024/25, establishing the “Environment and Climate Change” as the #1 priority. The strategic plan was adopted unanimously by the Mayor and Council. This priority is designed to protect West Vancouver against the real threats posed by climate change.

Mitigation measures include concrete actions to contain existing threats — from flooding on the foreshore to the ever-present danger of wildfires encroaching from the mountains—either of which could be catastrophic for our homes and neighbourhoods.

The proposed 0.5% increase to the environmental levy ensures that our #1 priority is properly funded to protect our community now and for future generations. The increase amounts to roughly $29 per year for the average household and seems like a small price to pay for protecting our beautiful home.

Take action in support of the levy:

  • Attend Council's open meeting on the budget at 1 pm on Monday, 12th February, at West Vancouver Municipal Hall.

  • Contact your Mayor and Council to let them know you support the Environmental Levy as the only way to deliver on our community’s #1 priority.
