Take two actions to move the Ambleside Local Area Plan forward

After two years of consultations with the West Van community, which included online surveys and direct meetings with some community stakeholders, it is time for the second phase of the three-part Ambleside Centre Local Area Plan to be voted forward to a public hearing.

On Monday, May 12, 2025, Council deferred consideration of the proposed Ambleside Centre Local Area Plan to its Monday, May 26, 2025 meeting. The vote will send the plan to a public hearing, so we can all review it, ask questions and offer suggestions.

Please take 2 ACTIONS to ensure democracy works in West Vancouver:

  1. Send a note to all councillors to vote YES to a public hearing at the next council meeting.

  2. Attend the public hearing and let your preferences be heard. (We’ll send you the date for the hearing when it is announced).

Send an email to correspondence@westvancouver.ca letting Mayor and council know that you are in favour of sending the Ambleside Centre Local Area Plan to a public hearing. Then we can all comment on:

  • Commercial spaces: retail, offices, culture, arts, and civic services.

  • Housing: affordability, mixed use, multi-family.

  • Transit: for pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and parking.

Thank you for actively participating in our civic life,
West Van Positive Voices
