Budget 2026 Open House

Make your voice heard at the open house

📅 Date: Wednesday, January 21, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

📍 Municipal Hall Atrium

Read the proposed budget and respond in person at the open house. This is your best chance to make your voice heard directly to WV staff as they prepare the draft budget for 2026.

What to look for

Of particular concern is the reduction of the environmental levy from $1.2M to $800,000 and diverting the resulting $400,000 to cover operating expenses. The environmental levy was specifically established to fund climate change mitigation and adaptation measures and fund programs to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It was also set aside to prepare for the impacts climate change will have on the district, NOT for operating expenses.

Other key issues include affordable housing, an effective transit system and the building of a sustainable West Vancouver community for this and future generations.

Please attend the open house and raise your concerns directly with staff and council in attendance. Or, after reviewing the documents, send mayor and council an email at correspondence@westvancouver.ca
